Performance Analysis for Bistatic Interferometric SAR Configurations
نویسندگان
چکیده
The results of an interferometric performance analysis for spaceborne parasitic SAR configurations are presented. The analysis includes errors due to limited SNR, block adaptive quantization, range and azimuth ambiguities, and geometric decorrelation for both flat surfaces and random volumes. Relative height accuracies for three spaceborne configurations with PALSAR, ASAR and TerraSAR-X as illuminators are derived and compared.

ONERA-DLR bistatic SAR campaign: planning, data acquisition, and first analysis of bistatic scattering behaviour of natural and urban targets
Bistatic configuration is an attractive concept for spaceborne and airborne SAR missions when distributed radars are necessary as for example in the case of interferometric applications. The first reason is the important cost reduction achieved over the multiple radar elements, by having only one transmitter (expensive part) and multiple receivers. The most promising applications are single-pas...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis of Bistatic Interfer- Ometer Based on Spaceborne Sar
This paper presents the performance analysis of Bistatic Interferometer BAsed on Spaceborne SAR (BIBASS). As a bistatic system with general configuration, the system response of BIBASS is azimuth/range dependent. Taking into account this peculiarity, the appropriate theoretical framework is developed to make a more accurate evaluation of the performance of BIBASS. Firstly, the interferometric f...
متن کاملGeneral Processing Approach for Bistatic SAR Systems: Descrip- tion and Performance Analysis
For its intrinsic properties, bistatic SAR processing cannot be approached in the same manner monostatic SAR processing is approached. In general, a bistatic SAR processor is more than a powerful focussing algorithm. Because of the lack of precise time (range) and phase (Doppler) references in non-cooperative (and even cooperative) bistatic systems, a prior software synchronisation step is used...
متن کاملError Analysis of Velocity Estimation via Bistatic Along Track InSAR
Bistatic SAR uses separated transmitted and receiver flying on different platforms. Such a spatial separation has several operational advantages in military applications the vulnerability of the system is reduced, because the transmitter can be positioned far away, while the passive receiver is difficult to locate. The bistatic along track interferometric SAR (AT−InSAR) model is one kind of bis...
متن کاملBistatic Sar Interferometry Using Envisat and a Ground Based Receiver: First Results
Bistatic SAR systems are an emerging research field, in which context the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya is developing a ground based bistatic system using ESA’s ENVISAT and ERS-2 as transmitters. The spatial resolution of this configuration is similar to that of their monostatic counterpart, although foreshortening effects have a lesser impact. The formulation of the interferometric phas...
